GTA 5

Michael De Santa in GTA 5 is a retired bank robber living in a mansion, and that comfort is exactly what does not last. Within the first hours, a crashed car dealership deal and a jealous dispute throw him back into crime alongside Franklin Clinton, a young repo man, and Trevor Philips, an old partner with a short fuse.

Switching Between Michael, Franklin and Trevor

The character wheel is the defining idea. You can jump from Michael's mansion in Rockford Hills to Franklin's street in Strawberry or Trevor's trailer in Sandy Shores at almost any time, and each one has a life that continues while you are away.

Each lead has a special ability. Michael slows time during gunfights, Franklin slows time while driving, and Trevor enters a rage that boosts damage and reduces incoming harm.

Players often settle on a favorite. Driving fans love Franklin's handling advantage, while players who enjoy chaos tend to spend most of their time as Trevor.

Heists and Planning in GTA 5

Heists are built in stages. Lester Crest helps pick an approach, the crew is assembled from hired specialists, and setup missions gather vehicles and gear before the actual job begins.

Crew choice matters. Cheap hires take a smaller cut but may make mistakes, while experienced gunmen and drivers cost more but improve the outcome.

Notable jobs include the Jewel Store Job early on, the Paleto Score in the north and the final Big Score. Each one has at least one branching approach, so replays feel different.

Los Santos and Blaine County

The city covers beaches, hills, downtown towers and the Vinewood sign, while Blaine County spreads into deserts, mountains and small towns. Mount Chiliad towers over the north and hides a famous community mystery that players still argue about.

Side activities fill the map: golf, tennis, races, hunting and the stock market. Smart players use Lester's assassination missions to profit from stock swings, which is one of the best money tricks in the story.

By the time you reach Paleto Bay, the map feels lived in. The traffic, animals and radio chatter make long drives worth taking even without a mission marker.

The Three Endings

The final choice is famous. Franklin can kill Trevor, kill Michael, or refuse both and fight alongside them in the option fans call Deathwish.

Most players consider the third choice the true ending, since it keeps the trio alive. The first two are debated as darker but meaningful alternatives.

Saving before the decision lets you see all three. Many players do exactly that on their first run.

GTA 5 Player Questions

  1. Which ending should you pick? Most players choose the Deathwish option because Michael, Franklin and Trevor all survive. The other two endings each remove one lead and change what you can do after the story.
  2. How do you make money fast? Hold Lester's assassination missions until late in the story and invest in the right stocks before each one. The returns can fund every property in Los Santos.
  3. What is each special ability? Michael slows time in gunfights, Franklin slows time behind the wheel and Trevor enters a damage-boosting rage. The bars refill over time and through actions like headshots or fast driving.

GTA 5 works because Michael, Franklin and Trevor each pull the story in a different direction, and the heists planned with Lester Crest tie them together. If you are curious what fans imagine for the series' next chapter, GTA 6 Browser is a quick fan-made taste, while Crime Simulator turns robberies into a stealth job.
